HiAgain (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our mobile application.

By using HiAgain, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us:

• Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and profile photo
• Profile Data: Bio, LinkedIn URL, school affiliation, and cohort information
• Location Data: City-level location (not precise GPS coordinates)
• Travel Status: When you enable travel mode, we store your travel destination city
• Social Connections: Friend relationships and group memberships
• Communication Preferences: Notification settings and quiet hours

We do NOT collect:

• Precise GPS location
• Contacts from your phone
• Photos from your camera roll (only photos you explicitly upload)
• Messages or communication content between users

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Show you classmates in your city or travel destination
• Facilitate connections between alumni
• Send push notifications about friend requests and travel alerts
• Respond to your requests and support needs
• Analyze usage patterns to improve the app experience

Information Sharing

We share your information in limited circumstances:

With Other Users:

• Your profile (name, photo, bio, city) is visible to other users in your groups
• Your exact location is NEVER shared - only city-level information

With Service Providers:

• Supabase (database and authentication)
• Apple (Sign in with Apple)
• Google (Sign in with Google)
• PostHog (anonymous analytics)
• Twilio (SMS verification)

We do NOT sell your personal information to third parties.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:

• All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
• Authentication tokens are stored securely in your device's Keychain
• Database access is restricted through Row Level Security policies
• We regularly review and update our security practices

Your Rights and Choices

You have control over your data:

• Access: View all your data in your profile settings
• Correction: Update your profile information anytime
• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data from Settings
• Opt-out: Disable push notifications in your device settings
• Block: Block users who you don't want to interact with

When you delete your account, we remove all your data from our servers, including your profile, friendships, and group memberships.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

Children's Privacy

HiAgain is not intended for users under 17 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the “Last updated” date.
